At JoJo we’re on the lookout for a Payroll Manager. You’ll manage and support our payroll team, making sure that everything runs smoothly while maintaining an environment where creativity and innovation can thrive. You’ll ensure that our payroll process is seamless, transparent and reflective of our commitment to ethical practices.

 

You’ll report to our People Director and work closely with our People Manager to create new reward and benefit initiatives and work with us to drive ahead with our people strategy.

 

  • Supporting our payroll team with monthly payroll, related reporting and filing for payrolls in UK, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands.
  • Responding and resolving escalated queries and guiding our payroll team with medium and low-level queries during periods of high volume.
  • Collaborating with our People Director and CFO with the implementation and management of our annual salary forecasting and quarterly updates.
  • Being the point of contact for our director team on managing departmental budget changes and forward forecasting.
  • Owning the annual salary benchmarking framework and preparing the report for shareholder signoff. You may be required to present report findings to our shareholder board.
  • Managing all payroll platforms and assisting with the upkeep of our HRIS.
  • Administering the company pension schemes, including auto-enrolment compliance and monthly schedules.
  • Overseeing company salary sacrifice benefits and consider NMW requirements ensuring we remain compliant.
  • Providing an advisory service and training to all company managers and employees as required.
  • Supporting our payroll team with the administration of our salary streaming platform Wagestream.
  • Consulting with the appropriate departments and organisations to ensure compliance with legislative requirement. Including providing any required reporting to ONS, HMRC and the collation of gender pay gap information.
  • Managing IR35 and tax status checks and compliance and administering P11d and PSA when applicable.
  • Creation of custom reporting as required by the business for people and payroll data.
  • Assisting with BCorp related audit activity.
  • You’ll lead, mentor and empower our incredible Payroll team supporting their development and wellbeing, inspiring them and nurturing their growth and development.

  • CIPP member (desirable) or equivalent qualification/ experience in Payroll.
  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to all people, including directors and shareholders.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft packages including Excel.
  • Technologically advanced, preferably with a working knowledge of AI.
  • Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills to foster confidence and cultivate great leadership.
  • Proficiency in building effective relationships, collaborating, persuading, challenging and influencing across all levels.
  • A solution orientated mindset and able to efficiently work with others to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Team management expertise, with a strong focus on people development and training.
  • Ability to work independently with enthusiasm and confidence to make decisions.
  • A great eye for detail and a knack for identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a changing, agile environment.
  • A desire to improve personal knowledge through continual development.
  • Ability to create and present high-quality documentation and management information.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally and externally at all levels in the company, both written and verbal with the ability to summarise technical concepts to non-technicians.
